Citrix Virtual Desktop infrastructure (VDI) composed of the XenApp and XenDesktop products is the market leader for VDI, according to Gartner’s VDI Magic Quadrant. Both XenApp and XenDesktop allow users access to applications installed on a centralized server. XenApp provides one-to-many access, of an application/desktop deployment to multiple users, while XenDesktop provides one-to-one access, of an application/desktop deployment to a user.

The architecture of a typical Citrix VDI deployment consists of a user device with a receiver, a gateway, storefront and or delivery controllers and applications servers. KEMP LoadMaster deployed as an Application Delivery Controller (ADC) in the underlying infrastructure provides:

  • Application Availability by load balancing servers deployed in HA configuration, ensuring there is No single point of failure
  • Application Scalability with flexible deployment options that are right sized, & do not require customers to buy expensive & over provisioned hardware, ensuring the network only Grows on demand
  • Application Resilience with geographical traffic management ensuring there are No site failures
  • Application Performance Improvement by relieving servers of tasks such as TCP optimization, compression & SSL off-loading, therefore only rendering required applications & desktops Ensuring Server Uptime

KEMP LoadMaster supports users located anywhere, deploying version 6.5 and earlier of Citrix VDI. In networks where the user is physically or logically within the internal network, there is no need for a gateway. With version 7.5 or greater, KEMP is deployed to load balance store-front servers, to manage user traffic accessing XenApp and XenDesktop servers, that originates only from within the intranet. KEMP’s LoadMaster #1 price-performance leader provides high-speed load balancing, content switching, data compression, content-caching and SSL offload/acceleration to Citrix VDI deployments at about a third of the cost of any of its competitors. It also provides secure access to applications, with additional capabilities such as ESP & WAF.

With its flexible deployment model, KEMP provides a cost effective solution to meet every size and performance requirement of the user’s network architecture. Plus, KEMP 360 Central & Vision products, further enhance the user experience by providing centralized control and monitoring.

With 98% customer support satisfaction and the base virtual model, starting at $2,000 KEMP LoadMaster keeps your Citrix VDI deployment highly performing and available.
